How to Fix Kbd101.dll Missing Error
» When I tried to use Japanese characters for my paper, I got an error message Kbd101.dll is missing. Anyone can help me with it?
Kbd101.dll is a 32/64-bit Dynamic Link Library of code component, belonging to Windows Operating System. It provides support for Japanese characters when using a 101 key keyboard. Its version is from 6.0.6000.16386 to 6.1.7600.16385. Its size is 2.72 kb. Its default location is c:\windows\system32 for backwards compatibility.
DLL is short for Dynamic Link Library, containing executable functions or data that can be used by Windows applications. DLL provides one or more particular functions, program accesses the functions by creating either a static or dynamic link to the DLL. The best thing about DLL files is that they can be used across multiple applications at the same time. Windows operating systems come with a few pre-installed DLLs that can be used by any application installed on it. Most of the other DLLs are usually developed to be used by a specific application and are loaded only when you launch that application.
What are the common causes of Windows DLL errors (otherwise called DLL Hell)? Firstly, Windows DLL errors occur when a newly installed application replaces a DLL with an older version. Now, because a DLL is used across various applications, overwriting a new version of DLL file may start causing errors in other applications using this DLL. As a user, choose to retain the newer versions of DLL files on your system.
Next, Windows DLL errors also occur if a shared DLL is deleted when you uninstall an application. In such a situation a missing DLL error is generated whenever an application is not able to locate to DLL.
Thirdly is infestation by malicious software—especially spyware. To repair this Windows DLL error, run an anti-spyware scan to search for the spyware that might be causing the problem and remove it from the system. Also, keep the definitions of your anti-spyware software updated and run regular scans on your system to guard it against malware.
Last but not least are the corrupted or outdated registry entries. You must get a reliable registry cleaner ready (UniOptimizer, for example) to scan and remove the registry entry errors whenever needed, especially after an antivirus scanning is done, as in the case of the above paragraph.
To fix all these dll errors, DLL Suite is designed for you and has been acclaimed by its users across the world ever since it was launched (click its icon to have a clear look of its interface).
When you encounter the error message like "Cannot find kbd101.dll", "A required .dll file – kbd101.dll was not found", you can click Download DLL - Free menu of DLL Suite, then click Start Scan & Download DLL - Free button, choose kbd101.dll file and click More Information, click Download button from the open web page. Then install the downloaded kbd101.dll.
