Logonui.exe No Disk When Logging On Or Off
» This error happens whenever a user logs on.
The LogonUI.exe is an executable file which is used by the Microsoft Logon User Interface, which is a process related to the Windows XP user switching screen. This particular file is extremely important for two reasons, one of which is because it is an executable file and it has a specific function, the other reason is because it is important for the stability of your computer system as it is required for several essential applications.
Malware can easily sneak into the computer and create damages to the system, LogonUI.exe is often one of the victims. When you first encounter the LogonUI.exe error, you may need to check on the status of LogonUI.exe file, use the Search function of Windows to search the file in the system driver of the computer, normally, there should be only one copy of LogonUI.exe located in the C:\Windows\systems\ folder, if you find multiple copy of it or it is in any other directory, your computer may have been infected by malware. To remove possible malware infection(TrojanDownloader:Win32/Dofoil.L), you should enter Windows safe mode and perform a malware scan with a reliable anti-malware software, then remove all the found threats.
After the virus removal, you can use DLL Suite to fix the associated .exe file problems with the virus infection, because of a built-in feature of Fix EXE Virus in Dll Suite; it also enables you to free download any dll file including .exe file, .sys file and dll file.

On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mode option you want, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights. If you are able to successfully boot into safe mode or command prompt, run the System File Checker.

But as I didn't upgrade from an old XP system because I was migrating from an old PC to a new one his final solution doesn't seem relevant. I did use Windows Easy Transfer to migrate data files though. I get the logonui.exe error each time I switch from one user account to another. Scan file checker and system startup repair options failed to fix the problem.
