NMIndexStoreSvr.exe Stealing Focus From Other Apps
» I've been having problems with the above named service. The error report generator (WerFault.exe) keeps generating errors with 0xc0000005. This pulls the focus from whatever I have currently on screen, including full-screen games like WoW. Rebooting my computer seems to be the only fix. Trouble is, the Indexing service is not running on my computer at all. I shut it off because it was too much of a resource drain and insisted on running while I was gaming. I've seen articles on how to shut down WerFault.exe, but this seems like it is a more important part of windows and should remain running.
Werfault.exe is a Microsoft Windows program used for automated reporting of problems in the Windows operating system. Many times Werfault is mistaken as a form of spy or malware and thus deleted. Unfortunately, when Werfault.exe is deleted, it can cause significant errors with the operation of the Windows operating system on your computer. To minimize the number of times that Werfault.exe is run on your computer in case of programs crash, you can disable problem reporting in Windows to stop Werfault.exe from running.
When you have a problem like Werfault.exe - Application Error, "The instruction at 0xdf350080 referenced memory at 0xffffffff. The memory could not be read.","Click on OK to terminate the program. Any microsoft related thing like zune, paint, and the volume mixer just stops working, and you got the pop-up message saying. "Paint has stopped working. Windows can try to recover your information.", "Volume Mixer has stopped working, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.
When you start your Windows 7 PC or try to launch or install an application, you may receive an error message similar to the one shown here:"WerFault.exe - Application Error The Instruction at 0xfcf9c9fe reference memory at 0x00000001. The memory could not be written. Click to terminate program."
To fix the issue, you may perform the following steps: Run a malware scan – Malware programs, if present, can cause various(Worm:Win32/Pushbot.AI) issues on a computer, including recurring exe errors. Close all running applications, reboot your computer in Safe Mode, and run a malware scan. In case malware presence is detected, delete the reported malware, and restart your computer in the Normal Mode. Check if the error is fixed now.
After the malware deletion, a thorough system scan is required to diminish the affected dll files in the process of deletion. At present, most current anti-virus software cannot eradicate the harmful influence on the system, resulting in corrupted or damaged dll files. The best way is to apply a much more professional and efficient tool for this job. Just give a shot to DLL Suite. It allows the free download of werfault.exe file. Or for better, you can do the automatic fix of any dll file related problems.
